Blood Endothelial Cells and Kidney Cancer

Investigation of calcitonin receptor like-receptor in endothelial cells as a potential target for therapy of kidney cancer 

The aim of this project is to investigate the properties of calcitonin receptor-like receptor (CLR) and its  response to stimulation with its agonists, before and after treatment with anti-angiogenic drugs targeting the vascular endothelial cell growth factor A (VEGF-A) pathway in primary human endothelial cells from blood vessels. We investigate CLR-mediated pathways in these cells in monoculture (on their own) or in co-culture with renal cancer cell lines, before and after treatment with various anti-angiogenic drugs.
