Doctoral Fellow in Pancreatic Cancer
Adenike obtained her MB; BS degree with distinction in Biochemistry from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria and an MSc in Oncology with distinction from the University of Nottingham, UK. She worked subsequently as a research assistant/associate at the Children’s Brain Tumour Research Centre, Nottingham before joining National Heath Service (NHS) England. She commenced combined academic clinical training in 2020, as a NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow in Oncology under the cancer genomics and bioinformatics theme over a three-year period, working on whole genome sequencing of pancreatic cyst fluid for early detection of pancreatic cancer. Adenike’s interests include molecular signalling in cancer, genomics, precision oncology and more recently liquid biopsy and next generation sequencing techniques for early diagnostics and individualized therapy in cancer management. She is due to commence her PhD in pancreatic cancer in autumn 2024.
